About

I'm William Box: writer, artist, food enthusiast.

I used to be in the Air Force, but that wasn't for me. My wife and sons are amazing and make my life more fun than I ever thought imaginable. They (especially my wife) are the reason that I have come as far as I have and will go farther than I ever dreamed possible.

I am a painter, photographer, writer, and all around artist. I work with most mediums, some with more success than others. My preferred mediums are photography and painting.

My painting style has evolved much over the years and is becoming more my own with each piece that I complete. My style and my view on art have been inspired by many artists, writers, film makers, musicians, etc. These include Salvadore DalĂ, William S. Burroughs, Piet Mondrian, Stanly Kubrick, and of Montreal, among many others.

With photography, I have found much joy pursuing the abstract, using light play with shutter speed variances. Unless otherwise noted, with the exception of some minor cropping, all of my photographs (abstract and otherwise) are completely free of any editing. They are straight out of the camera. I am currently working with other mediums, including plaster, paper, acrylic resin, and wood. I also do some graphic/digital art and hand drawing on paper. I fully intend to make fully cohesive pieces using multiple mediums that I mentioned here.

I'm also a freelance graphic designer. I have created book covers, book layouts, logos, concert posters, and much more. If you need any graphic designs from business cards to billboard art, contact me.

I began drawing earlier than I can remember, and I first knew that I wanted to be an artist when I was five. I began taking every art class that I had the option to take as early as kindergarten. I continued taking art classed to and through high school and graduated as a member of the Art Honor Society. I went on to obtain an associate degree in fine arts, and am currently 14 hours from my associate degree in graphic arts.

My art has been accepted by an art committee to show and sell at the 39th Annual Playhouse on the Square Original Art Auction. It is on display now, and will continue to be shown until April 23, the day of the auction.

My art has also been accepted to sell at the Memphis SRVS event "Spirit of SRVS." I donated two pieces for them to auction, and all money goes toward the education of adults with disabilities.
